I’m Dr. Aravind Lakshminarayanan, fondly known as Yoga Aravind — a passionate yogi, multi-industry entrepreneur, international record-holder, and a voice of change for the youth of India. Born in Kumarapalayam, Tamil Nadu, I overcame poverty, pressure, and politics to rise as an internationally recognized yoga athlete and the youngest CEO of a global organization.
Through my journey, I have won gold medals in global yoga championships, led Tamil Nadu and Indian yoga teams to victory, founded India’s first federations for Aari workers, fashion designers, and make-up artists, and launched multiple businesses under the Aravind Group — covering wellness, entertainment, education, finance, exports, and more.

I am Dr. Aravind Lakshminarayanan, also known as Yoga Aravind, born on September 2, 1999, in Kumarapalayam, Namakkal District, Tamil Nadu. My journey has been one of relentless pursuit — breaking barriers and overcoming odds to achieve excellence, not just in yoga but across multiple fields.
Growing up in a humble family, we faced several financial hardships and social challenges, but I was fueled by an inner fire — a belief that passion, hard work, and resilience can overcome even the toughest circumstances.
- My fascination with yoga began in childhood, a passion that would eventually define the course of my life. I completed my schooling at Thamarai Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Thamaraipalayam, in Erode District, Tamil Nadu.
- Determined to deepen my knowledge in fitness and wellness, I pursued higher education at the renowned Tamil Nadu Physical Education and Sports University, Chennai, specializing in Yoga, Exercise Physiology, and Nutrition — building the foundation for my multifaceted career.
- At the age of 17, I became the youngest yoga coach for Tamil Nadu’s state team, leading them to a major victory. At 18, I was honored to become the youngest State General Secretary in yoga history — the first of many groundbreaking milestones.
- In 2015, representing India at the World Yoga Cup in Indonesia, I proudly brought home the gold medal among competitors from 77 nations. This historic achievement set the tone for more international success — with further gold medal wins in the Asian Cup, Pacific Asia Cup, and other global yoga events.

As the General Secretary of IYSF, I manage the operations and development of yogasana sports in India. I lead initiatives to organize national and international competitions, improve athlete training, and promote yoga as a competitive discipline.
National President, Indian Fashion Designers Federation (IFDF)
In this role, I represent and support the interests of Indian fashion designers, providing them with platforms to showcase their work, expand into international markets, and gain recognition. I work to enhance the growth and professionalism of the fashion industry in India.
Honorary President, Indian Pharmacist Federation (IPF)
In this honorary capacity, I support and guide the Indian Pharmacist Federation, which is pivotal to the development of the pharmaceutical sector in India. I help formulate policies to improve the professional standards and welfare of pharmacists across the nation.
National President, Indian Art & Culture Federation (IACF)

Below is a timeline highlighting the major awards, recognitions, and records I have earned:
At just 16 years old, I competed in the World Yoga Cup in Indonesia, which saw participation from 77 countries. I proudly won the Gold Medal, marking a pivotal moment in my yoga career and bringing pride to India. This victory was instrumental in igniting my passion for international competition and creating awareness of yoga as a competitive sport.
I achieved another Gold Medal at the Asian Yoga Championship, continuing to represent India at the highest level. This recognition further cemented my position as a leading figure in the world of yoga.
Competing in the Pacific Asia Cup, I won yet another Gold Medal, extending my winning streak at international competitions and gaining recognition for India's excellence in yogasana.
At just 18 years old, I became the Youngest State General Secretary of the Tamil Nadu Yoga Association, which was a historic achievement in the world of yoga leadership. I spearheaded several initiatives to elevate yoga as a professional sport in Tamil Nadu, furthering the association’s outreach and impact.
At the age of 19, I received an Honorary Doctorate, recognizing my outstanding contributions to yoga, sports, and social initiatives. This recognition solidified my commitment to pushing boundaries and inspiring others.
At 20, I became the National General Secretary of the Indian Yogasana Sports Federation (IYSF), leading the federation in its mission to develop and promote yogasana as a competitive sport at national and international levels. This position allowed me to create new opportunities for young yogasana athletes across India.
At 23 years old, I was honored with the International Men’s Iconic Award, a recognition for my leadership, influence, and dedication to transforming communities through my various initiatives. This award celebrated my work in yoga, sports, and social development.
